Sync Magazine Cover
Sync Magazine - This sharp, glossy prototype of the magazine made its debut in the Consumer Electronic Show. The concept is to simply be hip without using the gimmick of alluring woman holding a gadget. Several months later, Ziff Davis published the magazine but moved away from the initial idea.
Sync Magazine
Sync Magazine - The images are from inside pages of the prototype of Sync magazine. The left image was a play on the end-of-the-world movie and which one gadget will you want to have. We shot on a not-so-deserted street and I had to Photoshop out several cars and passers by to get the overall effect on the spread. The right image is the opening page for a gadget list section.
Chevron Texaco Brochures and Forms
Chevron Texaco - I didn't realize that Chevron and Texaco had merged. I designed two brochures with almost identical content. Each folder has sixteen pages plus a pocket with form inserts.
National Semiconductor Brochure Design
National Semiconductor - This is one of several pieces I designed for National Semiconductor, and one of my favorite. The bi-fold brochure was printed in four color ink with an additional silver metallic. In the photoshop collage illustrations, I created an extra color to seamlessly merged the metallic ink with the natural colors.
Oracle Direct Mail Projects
Oracle Direct Mail Marketing - I got a chance to work with the Direct Mail Marketing department of Oracle to produce designs for four different major campaigns to intice top level executives to use Oracle products. "Navigation" was the overall theme and each box had pricey give-away. The idea is for the packages to be fancy enough that it bypasses the secretary and into the executive's desk. They spent approximately $2 million on these campaigns. I worked with Grey Advertising to produce the boxes.
Oracle Direct Mail Campaign for Corporate Governance
Oracle Corporate Governance Direct Mail Campaign - Oracle positioned themselves to make it easy on major companies to adhere to the new Corporate Governance laws by using their products. This direct mail box had a recurring topography and navigation design from the box cover to the multiple containers inside. The three level containers inside were cut to the shape of the topography design. The top level held a brochure offer and a GPS gift; the middle section held the Corporate Governance brochure - the design of the brochure covers (left images) continued the cross-over pattern; and the bottom section held the GPS manual and cord.
Oracle Direct Mail Campaign for Outsourcing
Oracle Outsourcing Direct Mail Campaign - I designed a complex brochure with die-cuts and an LED light for this campaign. The concept was to show that a company can be led to a wrong direction without Oracle's navigation. The first spread (right image) is gray and indistinct and the direction missing the light target. There are die-cuts through which the reader can see the words Budget, Support, Innovation, and IT Center in the following page - each die-cut has a negative adjective above it. The next page (center) is a clear colored map with a direct route to the light target and positive adjectives next to the words. They offered a digital atlas as part of this campaign.
Oracle Direct Mail Follow Up to Campaign Respondents
Oracle Direct Mail Follow Up Campaign - This colored box is a follow up to the respondents on any of the previous Oracle campaigns. It continues the navigation theme and the cross-over designs from the cover, inside container, and brochure. They offered a GPS-compatible digital map from National Geographic.
FMG Marketing
FMG Marketing Agency - This piece began as simple powerpoint client presentation. The colorful transparent blocks animates in the beginning of the slide. I later added functionality to this presentation so when icons are clicked it plays a jingle, launch a video, link to a site or another powerpoint presentation within the marketing agency's portfolio.
Time Warner Cable Direct Mail Marketing
Time Warner Cable Direct Mail Marketing - One of my clients was Time Warner Cable. They began pushing their Business Class services via direct mail and I created brochures, post-cards, leave-behinds, Christmas cards, and even a door knob hanger.
Toccare ad and marketing tri-fold
Toccare - You can drive anything from a Ferrari to a yatch if you belong in the Toccare Motoring Club. I designed an ad and a brochure for them before the state of the economy brought their business down. I was hoping to at least drive the Aston Martin.
